So here's a download of what I have so far. Lastly, I just heard back from Xaser about the possibility of including his E4M8 from Ultimate Doom The Way id Did, a tribute to Dr Sleep based partly on the only known screenshot of his unreleased Canto IX, "Waters of Lethe", as a way to close out the Inferno episode. The current ordering I have for his episode is based on our discussions. Kvernmo had a lot of very interesting input on level order, offering multiple proposals that emphasized difficulty ramp vs theming. Klie didn't have any opinions on the matter, which makes some sense given that his levels are all relatively short and self-contained. I reached out to Sverre Kvernmo and Chris Klie to ask 1) for their permission to repackage their work in this form, and 2) if they had any strong feelings on how their work would be presented things like preferred level order, pistol start, music, skies etc. Playing them all together I found they make for a diverse and interesting collection of maps, a collage of very different creative styles in Doom mapping circa 1995. I also included Mustaine's rejected Doom 2 MAP14 "homage", which he released on his website a few years ago. Remainder Mark - A remainder mark is usually a small black line or dot written with a felt tip pen or Sharpie on the top, bottom, side page edges and sometimes on the UPC symbol on the back of the book.If excessively worn, they will be marked as "tray worn." The maps were gathered from various free or FTP sites on the Internet however, the time and dial-up cost for a player to find and download the same collection of. These wads are not commissioned by iD or made by professional designers, and no claim is made as to these being the "most popular" or "best designed" homebrew levels available. wads (map packs with varying numbers of levels inside) for the original Doom and 1,629 wads for Doom II, leading to the package's claim of 3,000 total new levels. There is no overall campaign or an attempt to tie the levels together, though some of the levels from the same designer do have a connected story of their own. The "Master Levels" are twenty stand-alone maps from independent level designers commissioned by iD. Compiled by iD Software in response to various commercial Doom wad collections like D!Zone, the Master Levels for DOOM II was intended to be the largest mega-collection of additional Doom maps (the "Maximum Doom" collection), plus twenty new official maps (the "Master Levels").
